Parent's Night Out: Somatic Resilience Practices

About this event

Are you feeling overwhelmed as you juggle work, household management, and raising children and/or caring for loved ones? Does self-care feel like a luxury, last on the endless list? It can be hard to find a balance between providing for your loved ones and taking care of yourself. Join ABFN member and Acton parent Hannah Greene for a workshop in which we will explore nourishing resilience practices to support you in managing the chaos. It won't all be serious--we will laugh and play as well!
  • Recharge & reset in a supportive group environment
  • Learn new tools to manage stress, overwhelm & reactivity
  • Practice how to stay grounded & centered while supporting others
  • Use natural breathing for nervous system regulation
  • Enjoy an energizing lying down practice, constructive rest
  • Enjoy gentle hands-on touch and supportive guided movement 


The Details

  • When: Wednesday, June 24th from 7:00 - 8:30 PM

  • Where: Illuminated Birth, 525 Massachusetts Ave, Acton, MA 01720. Illuminated Birth is at 525 Massachusetts Ave Ste A, Acton, MA 01720. I would recommend parking in the Villageworks parking lot behind Westside Creamery. The office is located on the bottom floor/back side of the building, between RCY's lower studio and the covered parking area, right off one of the stairs to go up to the street.

  • Cost: $30 per person 

  • Registration: Please RSVP by June 22nd. Cancellations will be accepted until then. 

  • What to bring: Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle, a journal, a yoga mat, a small towel, and a blanket if you get cold lying on the floor.

  • Extras: herbal tea and light healthy snacks will be provided

Hannah is a parent of a rising Parker Damon 4th grader, daughter of aging parents, musician, and Alexander Technique (AT) teacher. To recharge, she enjoys hiking in the woods, baking, and connecting with friends. She grew up in Concord and now lives in Acton with her family.
